We were worried about this but after consultation with Queensland Department of Main Roads (TMR) they have advised that the Yeti cannot be defected for the hazardous operation it exhibits by design because:

                The manufactures design overrules Queensland roadworthy rules, and

                The operation of the Yeti is in accordance with the manufacturers design.

The second fielder in the glove box contains this advice from TMR, advice from Skoda / VW Australia that this is a deliberate design and the correspondence from Wippells Autos Dealer Principal that there is nothing wrong with our Yeti. This is in case we are ever pulled over for it. Additionally, in the event of the Yeti causing an accident it cannot be defected for doing so.
