This was partially addressed on a previous page. The Yeti is comprehensively insured. However if there is an accident caused by the “normal operation” of the Yeti we have no plans to trouble the insurance company.

We keep 2 folders in the glove box. The first is labelled “In the Event of an Accident”. This contains correspondence between us and Skoda / VW Australia since change out of the gearbox. It also contains confirmation from them that the hazards that we experience on a regular basis are “normal operation”.

  • If there is an accident involving only property damage then the other party will be given our details (name address & license number) as well as the “In the Event of an Accident” folder. They will also be provided with the direct number for the Customer Experience Genius in Sydney and the contact details for the Dealer Principal at Wippells Autos in Toowoomba. They can then contact either Skoda Australia or Wippells to have their vehicle repaired; just as we will be doing.

  • If there is an accident involving injury then the police will be given the folder and contact details so that they can further pursue the matter with Skoda / VW Australia and Wippells Autos if they wish.
