Skoda / VW Australia have offered $10,000 trade-in plus an additional $5,000 goodwill payment if we purchase another Skoda Yeti from Wippells. Wippells Dealer Principal has urged us to take this offer.

So let’s look at this. They will give us $15,000 to purchase another Yeti which will cost around $27,000. This means that we are effectively $12,000 out of pocket to replace a vehicle that is still in warranty for problems that were deliberately designed by VW and incorporated by Wippells Autos. This was completely beyond our control and I don’t see why we should be “out of pocket” because of someone else’s actions.

Thus we have politely declined the offer.
